BURSARIES
TUMAIYU JOSEPH 24-03-10 11:41:49

MAVIJANA WA CAMPUS HAWAPATI ANY ASSISTANCE ,but why?...answer me please
reply to john
tony 22-02-10 02:55:25

john in which country do you come from? may be a Jamaican but i suspect you must
be 'a ball boy' working for these port bellied fellows or you are one of them!
anyway if there is already the educated unemployed overflow in the job market
what about us who are undergraduates? John this is Kenya! i am now in fourth
year and have be searching for those part-time jobs since first year and non
seems to be readily available. Kenya is a 12hours economy those countries of
yours are 24hours economy! anyway if your are short of words stop bothering us!
but in case you have a part time job around Nairobi tell us we shall come
heartily.
about prioritization on who to award bursaries your argument is in
valid. three years are not over since the government started free day secondary
education. if parents WISH they can have a lunch program which roughly amounts
to ksh5000 at most. for us the university and college student we pay a minimum
john
ator ruto 18-02-10 11:42:38

Mr John you are talking of us joining hands in Gituamba in order that we repair
our broken bridge ,now tell me where do you want the money set aside by the
government for that purpose to go? Individuals bellies or where? Pliz gone are
those days you are talking about for accountability has to emerge from the
abysmal pit that had been buried. If you are still in those days my dear I am
change is inevitable.
bursaries
john 19-02-10 04:29:32

Yator
I insist.Bursary allocations should prioritise secondary schools then
university and colleges.
Kenyans who go to study abroad work during the night
and study during the day. They do not apply for bursaries from CDF.Likewise let
us (university/college students)release this bursary to the secondary
students. It it means repairing the Gituamba bridge and be paid by cdf do so
rather than continue in this culture of hand outs.
Or Yator are u sayig
University students shouldnt work in these less prestigious jobs?Do you know
what jobs are undertaken abroad by some kenyans and when they come back home
they flash out big briefcases. Those briefcases dont show the guy was cleaning
lavatories abroad.
talking about that?
omosh 23-02-10 04:25:55

John before I answer u,I really request u to talk frankly why are you
campaigning 4 the sec school allocation 2b increased,be frank,do u hv any
ill-motive? initially you had said that you studied in the 80s,when most of us
in colleges were being born, this shows how motionless you are in time coz u
still blieve that the previlages frm the government, the economy&the job
availability 4 the educated is still the same!please understand, learn&accept
that this is 2010(30yrs frm 1980!)and that things change unlike your own
world-may i refer to it as cage coz i really doubt if u r really in kenya-whea u
still live in the 80s&90s.
In a sense it seems that u r forgeting that there is
free secondary schools in kenya whea the schools receive funding frm
government,LET ME say this as a reminder:since 2008 january all government
schools became free 4 government is funding their every programme!in
addition;kenya's economy is 12HR ECONOMY ...
omosh and tony
john 24-02-10 04:52:05

you might have to define free secondary education in reality.Free secondary
education applies as far as tuition fee is concerned otherwise why do you have
your neighbours sons and daughters coming home end of term with school fees
schedules(payable to schools.
Back to my point, more bursary to these secondary
schools and less to universities and secondary students.University/College
students you have all the advantages over them if I can highlight
some,
AGE,
HELB,
STRENGTH TO WORK-Both manual and
paperwork,
LEARNED,
EXPOSURE TO OTHER DONORS,
ABILITY TO DO SMALL
BUSINESSES,
INSIGHT,
Plus many more I may not include here.
What are missing
out of these advantages?
Secondary kids have all the challenges you know if you
come from Laikipia. They even risk joining proscribed movements if not helped to
reach where you are of which you are not at risk of.
Again CDF should
prioritize Secondary School kids.

I take this chance to appeal to fellow comrades to be sincere.very few
constituencies will u find the list of beneficiaries in public places.this is a
sign of transparency. The deadline has come to an end on 15th and 3,000
applicants have forward their cases but not all will benefit.our offices r open
and we r ready even to attend meetings to discuss the same and other
issues.Student leaders in Nairobi,KU,JKUT,EGERTON and other collages please
invite us to your meetings and lets forge the way forward.cell 0721 750041

whom we thought were our jesus christ of laikipiawest just to turn up to be
judas! please it our time give us the chance. do you have a child currently in a
college or university? but may be your are financially okay lucky you!@

and to you anonymus though resources are never enough, channeling them to the

we know who is who within the location!!
3000 BURSARY APPLICATIONS
JOHN 18-02-10 06:43:29

Tonny
3000 bursary applications against 60m that was allocated Laikipia West
2009/2010.How much would each applicant get if all university/college students
were to get? kshs 20,000 assuming no roads, bridges, hospitals primary schools to
be made.
secondary school kids are got 1,500 per year while university/college
students are getting 5k.Who needs this money more? I guess secndary school kids
have not reached an age where they can make decisions for themselves and
therefore needs more support.University/college students are mature.Tony am I
right?
Tony you may have younger sisters and brothers let them have secondary
school bursary allocations.I will speak for them on this forum since they may
not.
For College/university level,The CDF committee should reduce the level of
allocations and increase secondary school allocations.
wakifika uiversity they
will know how to sort themselves out.Atleast they will be mature enough.

bursary allocation should be done at the location level by the chief.

I want first to say that resourses are never enough. secondly it is important to
note that we are the same community that is never sincere coz the people you
pupport get bursary are our neighbors, cousins etc.therefore, even if the
bursaries are taken to the village elder the same will happen. remember these
bursary forms are confirmed by the areas chiefs, councillor and a church
priest/pastor who are supposed to guide the bursary committee to establish the
most needy.
therefore I also appeal to the above leaders to be
accountable.

JOHN 17-02-10 09:06:52

Dear University students
Those of us who schooled in the late 80s and early 90s
never got bursaries and there4 wont understand your frustration in pursuing the
bursary;
we used to do manual kibaruas to supplement these meagre incomes. We
also held laikipia univeristy students harambees to support our pursuit of
education tho it wasnt enough also.
what are u pple doing to supplement your
routine sources of income.somebody has complained of broken brdges in
gituamba, join join hands together and repair it.Then charge CDF.Ask CSR oriented
organisations and you will be amazed at their support for such an
initiative-YAWA.
