Campaign againast drug abuseStudents from twenty eight (28) Secondary Schools converged at the St. Martin Hall on   5th February 2010, to culminate a week long campaign on drug and substance abuse.

The activity was spearheaded by the Laikipia West and Nyahururu Districts Guidance and Counseling Teachers association whose membership is drawn from members of the guidance and counseling departments in all the schools.

Officers from NACADAA graced the occasion with Madam Jane Mwangi, a rehabilitated alcoholic narrating her real life story which moved some of the students to tears.

The climax which was an awareness walk on the streets of Nyahururu town which attracted the attention of even the street children whose glue sniffing behavior shortens their life span greatly due to its effects.

It is worth noting the support this procession received from the boda boda operators who abandoned their work as a show of solidarity and took part in the procession.  Laikipia West Constituency staff, also by NACADAA joined the forum and the procession.

Lets all join hands in the fight against drug and substance abuse!
